Hi I am Natalie, CEO of The Wellbeing Generation a social enterprise start up to remove the stigma around mental health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities that support access and support.

I have decided to put together a blog for other likeminded people like me who had a dream.. This is my first diary entry, thanks for being here and for reading!

If any of you have heard of imposter syndrome, imposter syndrome is one of the things I regularly experience as a CEO starting up my own business.

A vicious cycle of anxiety and short-term relief.

Feelings of anxiety of your capabilities for achieving your goals; followed by Short term relief when

you achieve the goal, but more anxiety that the result was not good enough, what can it look like?

☝🏻Low self-confidence

☝🏻Fear of failure Self-doubt – AM I GOOD ENOUGH! ☝🏻Fear of lack of achievement – will it be good

enough, will I let people down Fear of Success – if I succeed will I be good enough to continue

☝🏻A strong need to be the best

☝🏻Perfectionist in all things, setting unrealistic outcomes Setting yourself up to fail and not achieve by

creating unrealistic goals, example passing an exam with the pass mark of 70% but being

disappointed that you did not achieve 100%

☝🏻Unwillingness to internalise positive feedback

Unable to take on board constructive criticism to improve, instead viewing it as a negative outcome

confirming your thoughts of inadequacy

☝🏻Self-sabotage

☝🏻Experience a constant internal struggle between achieving success and avoiding being "found out."

There are 4 faces of imposter syndrome so you can look out for them:

The Natural Genius

The Expert

The Perfectionist

The Soloist

The Superhero

Do you tell yourself that you should have made a success of this already? Or find yourself trying to make everything perfect so in the end you end up doing nothing or do you try and do everything on your own to prove that you can?

The Superhero in the business sense always catches me out, I have been known to let my passions and hobbies fall away and sometimes feel that I have far too much to prove!

Do not fall at the first hurdle, keep an eye out for this cheeky voice as it WILL try and trip you up!

Let us know which one of these is your achilles heel?

We are here to talk about the good, the bad and the ugly of being an entrepreneur in a pretty crazy world. If you feel like you may fall, we are here to catch you!
